CATEGORIZING YOUR PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES:

In order to have a well-organized website, it will be important for you to categorize or group your information together.  For example:  A medical group may have doctors with different specialties such as:  Pediatricians, Gerontologists, Family, Surgery, etc.  This information will be used to set up your site's navigation to make it easy for your potential customers/clients to peruse your website.

Your Action Items for Categorizing Your Products and/or Services:

  • Provide a list of the categories and sub-categories related to your products and/or services.

  • If possible, create a flow chart showing the hierarchy of your organization of categories.  Show which categories you want linked.

DESCRIBING YOUR BUSINESS:

We will be registering your new website with numerous search engines, which will require coding meta tags into your website.  Meta tags are key words and phrases related to your site.  These are words that future customers would enter into a search engine to find you.  For example, someone looking for an antique shop would probably enter the words "antique," "furniture," "Chippendale," etc.

Your Action Items for Describing Your Business:

  • Prepare a list of key words relating to your business.

  • Prepare a list of phrases which incorporate as many keywords as possible.

  • Create a list of no more than 150 words describing your business using the key words and key phrase.
