The
purpose of our preschool is to provide a happy environment in which
preschool children can develop a lively awareness of the world around them
at their own pace: physically,
intellectually, emotionally and socially, within an atmosphere of
Christian love.
First
United Methodist Church Nursery School aims to carry out its purpose
through experiences that are
meaningful to children at their levels of maturity by providing:
| - |
A
balanced daily schedule of play, snack and organized activities
under the supervision of a fully qualified staff while maintaining
children's health and safety. |
|
|
| - |
An
opportunity to play with similarly aged companions for essential
social and emotional growth. |
|
|
| - |
A
wide variety of equipment and materials for intellectual and
physical growth. |
|
|
| - |
Opportunities
for children to expand their awareness of God's wonderful world
through music and movement, social studies, art, language,
science, cooking, and stories. |
FULLERTON
FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH NURSERY SCHOOL OFFERS A TWO-DAY, THREE-DAY,
AND FIVE-DAY PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
All
programs are geared to the developmental level of the children.
They enjoy a play curriculum rich in large and small muscle
activities, language experiences, family style snacks, and many
opportunities to experience successful decision making.
We
promote student development of a positive self concept and an attitude of
respect and acceptance of self and others.
As
a Parent Participation program, we provide a lower child/adult ratio and
can offer additional activities to enhance our curriculum.
We
nurture and foster the formation of family, of parish, and of broader
communities in which people live.
PICNIC
DAYS
Picnic
Days is an optional program offered twice a week for a nominal fee.
Children may stay on Monday or Tuesday from noon until 2:30 p.m.
with two fully qualified teachers. To
implement this program on any given day, we need a minimum of ten
children, maximum of sixteen. The
children bring their lunch and a drink.
This is a special time to socialize with their classmates.
ADMISSION

The California State Department of Social Services further requires
that each child enrolled give evidence of all required immunizations and

The preschool is open to children of all races, colors, religions,
cultures, ancestries and national origins.
As
a Parent Participation Program, each child must have a parent, or parent
substitute, sign up to help once day per month in the classroom.
State law requires a TB test and heal clearance for each adult
participant.
