First of all we give thanks to God for everything that made this experience a joyful and fulfilling one.
From a successful engagement at the world famous Carnegie Hall, members of our Aldersgate Chorale
enjoyed a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform in New York City as guests of the Cypress College
Masterworks Chorale and by kind invitation from their director, Dr. Sheridan Ball.

Mid-America Productions was in charge of the logistics and paved the way by providing airline and hotel
reservations, including a rehearsal hall at a nearby Catholic Church, and of course, the arrangements at The
Carnegie. Except for rehearsal and performance schedules on Friday and Saturday we were on our own to
come and go, to see and do as much as we pleased.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt on 42nd. St. right next to Grand Central Station in Mid-town Manhattan, This made it easy to
choose from a large variety of attractions including the New York
City Public Library a scant few blocks away. The Chrysler building
is across the street. |

Thursday afternoon we held our first rehearsal followed by a second one on Friday morning. After the
Thursday rehearsal we walked from the hotel to Blake's restaurant on 48th. St. for dinner, and followed that
with a walk to 52nd. St. to see the Music Man play at the Neil Simon Theater. To quote one critic: "one of
the greatest musical revivals in Broadway history."
