Family Camp 2001 was held September 14-16 at our traditional spot: Lobo Group camp in the Barton Flats area of the San Bernardino mountains. Some campers spent Friday night under the stars; others came up Saturday morning. Saturday's activities included just loafing around camp (always a favorite!), a trip to nearby Jenks Lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing, and a delicious potluck dinner. After the sun went down we brought out the colorful "glow sticks," and then had a sing-along around the campfire, helped by Dave Perry and his guitar. A few families could only spend the day Saturday, but many stayed and enjoyed a group breakfast the next morning, followed by a short but meaningful worship service in this wonderful outdoor sanctuary.

Hungry campers descend on the food. Hungry campers can hardly wait for dinner. It was worth waiting for.
The food rapidly disappears. More satisfied gourmets.

The camp has lots of open space under the trees. The phrase "happy campers" comes to mind.

Lake mud is fun to throw!

Intrepid canoers head for shore.

Bill McGarvey's swing is a favorite of the youngsters. Hannah gets a ride on the swing, courtesty of her Dad. Megan has a passenger.
